Terms of Service

The agreement for using Qadras.

1. These terms

These terms are the agreement between Qadras LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("Qadras" or "we"), and the school, district, teacher or family using Qadras ("you"). By creating an account or using Qadras, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and is part of these terms.

If a school or district has signed a data privacy agreement with us (such as the National Data Privacy Agreement), that agreement controls wherever it differs from these terms or the Privacy Policy.

2. Who may use Qadras

  • Schools and districts buy Qadras for their staff and students. The school decides who gets an account and what they can see.
  • Teachers may also use Qadras on their own, for their own classes.
  • Students use Qadras only through their school or teacher, for school work. A school using Qadras with students under 13 gives the consent the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires, on parents' behalf, for school purposes only.
  • Parents and guardians use Qadras to follow their own children, once the school links them.

3. Student information belongs to the school

  • Student records in Qadras belong to the school or district that put them there. We act as a "school official" under FERPA: we use student information only to run Qadras for the school, under the school's direction.
  • We never sell student information, never use it for advertising or marketing, and never build profiles of students for anything but school.
  • A teacher using Qadras on their own may enter only what they need for their own classes, and may not share it outside the school.

4. Your account

  • Keep your password private and don't share your account. Turn on two-step sign-in; school admins, principals, special education staff and nurses must.
  • Tell us right away at support@qadras.com if you think someone else used your account.
  • You are responsible for what is done with your account.

5. Using Qadras the right way

You agree not to:

  • Look at, copy or change information you aren't allowed to see, including another school's.
  • Upload material you don't have the right to share, or anything unlawful, hateful or harmful to students.
  • Try to break, overload, copy or get around the security of Qadras. To report a security problem, see the Security page.
  • Use Qadras to advertise to or collect information from students for anything but school.

6. Your materials

  • Teachers own the assessments and materials they make. You let us store and show them so Qadras works for you and the people you share them with.
  • If you share something to the Qadras Library, other teachers can copy and use it in their classes.
  • We own the Qadras software, name and design.

7. AI features

Some features use Claude, by Anthropic, to help grade written answers, translate messages and answer staff questions about Qadras. Student names are replaced before answers are sent for grading. AI suggestions can be wrong: teachers review grades and can change any of them.

8. Emergencies and health information

  • Qadras is not an emergency service. Lockdown alerts and emergency features add to your school's emergency plan; they never replace calling 911 or following that plan.
  • Health and nurse features help staff keep track of information. They do not replace medical judgment.

9. Plans and payment

  • School and district prices, dates and payment terms are on the quote or invoice. Individual plans are billed through Stripe and renew until canceled.
  • You can cancel an individual plan any time; it stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
  • A free trial ends on the date it shows. Some features need a school plan.

10. When use ends

  • Schools and districts: admins can download all of their data and delete it at any time (Admin → Delete School Data). When a school's contract ends and isn't being renewed, we delete its data within 90 days and send a signed notice.
  • Teachers on their own: you can ask us to delete your account and your students' information at any time at support@qadras.com.
  • We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts students at risk. We will tell the school when we do.

11. Service and responsibility

  • We work to keep Qadras running and safe, but we can't promise it will never be down or error-free. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
  • Qadras is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or lost-profit damages, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits responsibility the law doesn't allow us to limit, or our duties under a signed data privacy agreement.

12. Changes and contact

  • If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell account holders by email or in Qadras at least 30 days ahead.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Ohio.
  • Questions: Qadras LLC, support@qadras.com, (855) 916-5516.
