Accessibility

How Qadras works for everyone, and how to tell us when it doesn't.

Our goal

Qadras aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard the U.S. Department of Justice set for public schools' websites and apps — so every student, family member and staff member can use it, including with a keyboard alone or a screen reader.

What we have done

  • Reviewed every page and fixed what we found: labels on every form field, text alternatives for images, a skip-to-content link, a clear heading order, focusable and labeled buttons and dialogs, and text colors with enough contrast.
  • Students can type their work instead of drawing it, and teachers can give extra time on tests.
  • New pages are built and checked with these rules in mind.

Known limitations

  • We have not yet finished testing with screen readers (VoiceOver and NVDA). That testing is next.
  • PDFs Qadras makes (student reports, forms) are not yet tagged for screen readers. The same information is on the page in Qadras.
  • Drawing in "Show your work" needs a touch screen, pen or mouse; typing the work is the alternative.
  • Videos, pictures and documents that schools and teachers upload are only as accessible as the captions and descriptions they include.

Tell us about a barrier

If something in Qadras is hard to use with a disability, email support@qadras.com with the page and what happened. We answer within 5 school days, and we'll help you get the information another way while we fix it.
